COMMUNITY PC GUIDE

Choose Your Bloodborne PC Port Project

For a packaged Windows setup, start with Supermedo Windows v1.5. On Linux, use deadinside28's bbport 0.4 AppImage. If Mrsuss60 v0.2 already works for you, keep that installation while you decide whether another project's features are worth changing your setup.

These community programs need your own PS4 game data. For the three bbport routes in our installation guide, prepare a decrypted CUSA03173 v1.09 folder first.

Once you have chosen a bbport project, go to the program releases and installation steps. Match the maintainer and version to the route you chose.

Windows: Supermedo or Mrsuss60?

Choose Supermedo for the simpler packaged start. Its program includes the components it needs, so you can run Bloodborne.exe without installing Python. Version 1.5 adds DLSS Super Resolution for RTX 20-series and newer cards. In the launcher, choose Graphics → Upscaler → DLSS; on other GPUs, choose an available upscaler such as FSR.

DLSS Super Resolution reconstructs the image from a lower rendering resolution. DLSS and FSR frame generation are still planned features in this project, so choose v1.5 for its current upscaling feature.

If you already use Mrsuss60 v0.2, a working setup is a good reason to stay with it. That route needs Python 3.10+, an AVX2-capable CPU and Vulkan 1.3. Its program files go beside the game data, and its launcher starts through launcher.py.

Check the project-specific keyboard table before switching: Supermedo uses the arrows for the camera and Enter for the game menu; Mrsuss60 uses IJKL for the camera and F1 or O for the menu. For mouse camera controls, consider bbhost's separate route below.

For Supermedo updates, use Update in the launcher, or Advanced → Check for updates. Copy your saves folder to a backup location first. Keep each project's program files and settings separate when trying another project. Preserve your original installation and its saves while testing the new setup.

Linux: use the upstream AppImage

Use deadinside28 bbport 0.4 if you want the upstream Linux package. The AppImage opens the launcher without a local source build. Choose the Linux route even if a Windows fork's version number is higher: these projects use different release numbering.

For Steam Deck, start with FSR 3, 1280×720 output and the default memory mode. Continue with Linux installation. If Steam reports Cannot mount AppImage, use the specific AppImage workaround.

Other projects and experimental forks

bbhost: a separate packaged project

bbhost v0.2.16 has Windows, Linux and Steam Deck packages. Choose it if mouse camera controls, rebindable keys or multiplayer between bbhost players are your deciding features. It uses a private server for co-op, invasions and other online features.

Follow the Getting started section in the bbhost project README: its setup asks for your game data and decrypted 1.09 executable as two paths. Use its own controls and support instructions. On Windows with an AMD RX 580, account for the project's known GPU-hang issue when deciding whether to try this route. Keep a backup of your current installation and saves before starting a separate setup.

Source builds and projects still in development

ProjectDarkIzuku, windows-port branch Current stateExperimental Windows source with DLSS changes; no published Release What to do if you choose itUse the selected branch's README and MSYS2 CLANG64 build instructions
ProjectSantaChains/paleblood Current stateIndependent bbport-derived source for Windows/Linux; no published Release What to do if you choose itPrepare the build tools and required community patch XML; its DLSS option also needs the corresponding DLL
ProjectAwesomeObserver Current stateExperimental Supermedo fork; DLSS frame-generation execution and in-game validation remain pending What to do if you choose itChoose it for development work; use Supermedo v1.5 when you want a packaged DLSS Super Resolution option
ProjectPhroster Current stateWindows development project; not playable on Windows yet What to do if you choose itFollow development progress; choose a playable packaged project for your current setup
ProjectYharnam-Hunters/Paleblood Current stateDecompilation project; the game does not run on its current runtime What to do if you choose itFollow its progress; it is a different project from SantaChains/paleblood

A source build needs a compiler and the dependencies named by that project. GitHub's Code → Download ZIP gives you repository files to build; it does not give you one of the packaged programs listed above.

Continue with installation

For Supermedo, Mrsuss60 or Linux bbport, use the homepage's GitHub program releases, then follow the matching Windows or Linux steps. Check the maintainer, release tag and program filename before starting.

For bbhost or a source project, continue in that project's README. Keep its setup, keys and logs with that project. If your existing window says shadPS4 or BBLauncher, use Native Port vs shadPS4 to identify that separate route first.
